*Decatur, Illinois* We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and oversee all aspects of nursing operations within our facility. The Director of Nursing will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of patient care, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment for our nursing staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the nursing department to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to promote efficient and effective nursing practices.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and recruitment efforts to maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure adequate coverage.
- Collaborate with other department heads and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and enhance interdisciplinary communication.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance nursing quality and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and healthcare laws and regulations.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development among nursing staff through training, education, and mentorship opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and external stakeholders to facilitate open communication and address concerns effectively.
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of nursing principles, practices, and standards of care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards in nursing practice.
