Job Title:  Vice President – Finance & Accounting FLSA Status:  Exempt

Position Summary:  Responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and investments.  This role ensures financial integrity, drives performance, and supports the organization’s mission through sound fiscal management and data-driven decision making.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops and executes financial strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth initiatives. 
  • Advises the President and HCF Board of Directors on financial planning, risk management, and capital structure. 
  • Leads long-range financial planning and scenario modeling for expansion, acquisitions, and new service lines.   
  • Oversees all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and financial reporting.
  • Manages the HCF Family of Companies investments accounts to properly align with the ongoing financial needs of the organization.
  • Ensures timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.      
  • Manages cash flow, working capital and treasury functions. 
  • Leads the annual budgeting process across all departments and facilities.
  • Implements rolling forecasts and variance analysis to monitor performance and identify opportunities. 
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP, federal/state regulations, and industry specific financial requirements. 
  • Participates in monthly Executive, Management, Operations, and Board of Director meetings.
  • Maintains robust internal controls and audit readiness. 
  • Interacts regularly with external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory agencies, and banking partner representatives. 
  • Ensures compliance with HCF operational and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Builds and mentors a high-performing Finance and Accounting team. 
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration and continuous improvement in the Finance and Accounting department. 
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, HR, IT and Clinical Leadership to drive business results. 
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining his/her professional competence.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Graduation from a Bachelor’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline (Master’s Degree or CPA preferred).  Ten (10) years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in healthcare or senior living.  Extensive understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, Medicare/Medicaid, and cost reporting.  Proven track record in financial strategy, operational efficiency, and team development.  Strong analytical, communication and executive presentation skills as well as experience with ERP systems and financial analytics tools. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Direct supervisory responsibility for VP of Reimbursement, Controller, Revenue Cycle Manager, Treasury Analyst, and Director of Taxation as well as general oversight for all other staff members in the Accounting and Finance departments.
