Training & Development Manager – RN

LeaderStat is partnering with a well-established nonprofit skilled nursing and long-term care community in Baltimore, MD, to recruit an experienced Training & Development Manager – RN. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical leader who enjoys teaching, developing staff, building education programs, and improving clinical competency.
What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee nursing education, staff development, orientation, competency, and regulatory training.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs based on regulatory requirements, clinical needs, staff competencies, and organizational priorities.
- Facilitate new-hire orientation for nurses, CNAs/GNAs, and other clinical team members.
- Conduct skills labs, competency-based education, dementia training, and other clinical training programs.
- Develop and maintain annual education and competency programs for clinical staff.
- Utilize electronic learning platforms, including Relias, to assign, track, and monitor required education.
- Identify education and competency gaps through audits, incidents, quality indicators, survey findings, and clinical outcomes.
- Provide education and remediation when practice or competency concerns are identified.
- Support QAPI initiatives, survey readiness, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the DON and leadership team to ensure staff remain current on clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of CMS requirements, Maryland regulations, survey processes, and evidence-based post-acute care practices.
What We're Looking For
- Current RN license in Maryland in good standing.
- 5+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in skilled nursing, post-acute care, rehabilitation, geriatrics, or long-term care.
- 3+ years of experience in clinical education, staff development, nursing leadership, or competency management preferred.
- Strong understanding of CMS requirements, Maryland survey requirements, QAPI, and survey readiness.
- Strong presentation, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Passion for teaching and developing clinical staff.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the organization's education and development processes.
- Dementia Care Practitioner certification preferred, but not required.
