Staff Accountant

LeaderStat is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team! Reporting directly to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will play an important role in supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining accurate, timely financial records.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working across multiple areas of accounting, collaborating with different departments, and taking ownership of their work. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, highly accurate, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain accurate financial records, general ledger accounts, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments.
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes.
  • Support accounts payable, cash management, and treasury activities.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and billing-related accounting functions as needed.
  • Support financial reporting, account analysis, and variance research.
  • Maintain organized documentation for accounting transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assist the Controller with internal, external, regulatory, and financial audits.
  • Respond to management requests for financial information and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with payroll, operations, human resources, billing, and other departments to resolve accounting-related matters.
  • Cross-train across accounting functions to provide backup and ensure continuity.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of company and financial information.
  • Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Controller.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with accounting and operational teams.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PointClickCare.
  • Experience in post-acute healthcare, senior living, skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, or a related healthcare setting.
  • Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Experience with financial reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
