Regional Director of Operations

Assisted Living & Memory Care | Not-for-Profit Senior Living Organization

We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Regional Director of Operations to oversee two Assisted Living and Memory Care communities near Pontiac, MI. This leadership role is responsible for supporting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and team development while ensuring residents receive compassionate, person-centered care in a values-based environment.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and strategic leader with multi-site senior living experience and a passion for serving older adults through a mission-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and guidance to Executive Directors across multiple communities
  • Ensure high-quality resident care and hospitality standards in Assisted Living and Memory Care settings
  • Support and uphold the organization’s mission, values, and not-for-profit commitment to service
  • Drive occupancy growth, resident satisfaction, and operational performance
  • Monitor compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor, coach, and develop community leadership teams
  • Review financial performance, budgets, labor management, and key operational metrics
  • Partner with clinical, sales, and support teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Conduct regular community visits, audits, and operational assessments
  • Promote a culture of compassion, accountability, teamwork, and excellence
  • Travel regularly between assigned communities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Gerontology, Nursing or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of multi-site operations experience in senior living required
  • Strong knowledge of Assisted Living and Memory Care operations and regulations
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and improving operational outcomes
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance metrics
  • Commitment to resident-centered care and mission-driven service
  • Ability to travel throughout the region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a not-for-profit or faith-based senior living organization
  • Background in culture-building and employee engagement initiatives
  • Experience supporting community turnarounds or growth initiatives
