Advanced Practice Provider – Physician Assistant (PA)

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join a collaborative Hospitalist team at a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) in Columbia, Missouri.

This position is ideal for a provider who enjoys caring for medically complex patients in a supportive, team-oriented environment. With an average patient stay of 25–30 days, you'll have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients while playing an important role in their recovery.

 

Position Summary

The Physician Assistant will work within the scope of practice to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with complex medical conditions. Working closely with hospitalists, specialists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams, you'll help deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
 

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to medically complex patients.
  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
  • Manage patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Collaborate daily with hospitalists, specialists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Support quality patient outcomes through evidence-based clinical practice.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Active Missouri Physician Assistant license.
  • 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred, ideally in Hospital Medicine, ICU, Emergency Medicine, or Med-Surg.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required upon hire or within 90 days.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Team-oriented with a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
