We hiring a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Baltimore, MD
Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Day Shift
Pay rate: $30-34 per hour

This position is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and managing full-cycle accounts payable functions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional internal customer service. 

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Process and maintain accurate bi-weekly payroll for employees
  • Review payroll documentation for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization
  • Maintain payroll records and process manual or special payroll checks as needed
  • Coordinate garnishments, child support payments, and tax liens
  • Produce payroll-related reports and assist with year-end W-2 preparation
  • Respond to employee and supervisor payroll inquiries

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices and verify proper approvals and supporting documentation
  • Match invoices to payments and coordinate check distribution
  • Respond to vendor questions regarding payments and account status
  • Assist with month-end close activities, audits, and financial reporting
  • Collaborate with accounting staff and external auditors to resolve payroll and accounting issues
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll and/or accounts payable experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with payroll systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Coursework in bookkeeping, business, or accounting
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, or related healthcare environments
