Senior Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Glenmont Christian Science Nursing is seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of our facility, buildings, grounds, and equipment.

This position works closely with the Director of Facility Operations and Administrators to ensure the property remains safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained while responding to the needs of patients, staff, and Christian Science nurses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain and repair building systems, equipment, grounds, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, furniture, and other facility needs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and coordinate outside vendors and service contractors when needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the property, including lawns, parking areas, entrances, and surrounding grounds.
  • Manage maintenance supplies, inventory, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop scopes of work, obtain project proposals, and help oversee maintenance and facility projects.
  • Assist with vendor selection, scheduling, and project coordination.
  • Train, schedule, delegate, and supervise maintenance staff as assigned.
  • Track project expenses and help ensure work remains within budget.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
  • Operate and maintain grounds equipment, tools, and facility machinery.
  • Remain available for on-call responsibilities and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience; healthcare, nursing home, or similar facility experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience with P-TAC units preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, safety, sanitation, and Life Safety regulations is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to supervise and delegate work to others.
  • Must be comfortable working with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Must be willing to work in a Christian environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in elevated spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work overtime and participate in on-call responsibilities for emergencies.
