Travel RN – Wound Care Nurse

We’re looking for an RN with wound care experience to commit to a 30-day contract at a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in Wheaton, IL. The RN is responsible for assisting with direct patient care related to wounds within a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC). You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team as well as the resident or responsible party to develop an individualized, patient-centered plan of care.

Stipend

For this contract, you will receive a stipend to assist with expenses. A stipend is defined as a weekly, untaxed sum of money to pay for lodging, meals, transportation, and incidental expenses. This puts you in control of your own money!

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with healthcare team to develop personalized care plans for residents
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Taking and monitoring vital signs
  • Administering medications
  • Assessing and monitoring wounds
  • Assist with common types of complexities, such as ulcers, pressure injuries, diabetic foot wounds, and skin tears
  • Educating residents and caretakers on wound care, infection and injury prevention, and pressure ulcer (bed sore) care
  • Providing companionship and comfort to all residents

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • At least one year of clinical experience in a long-term care setting (skilled nursing facility, assisted living, etc.) as a Registered Nurse
  • Active RN license in the state assigned, or in an eligible Nurse Compact State
  • Wound Care Certification (WCC) preferred but not required
  • Possess empathy and passion for serving others
  • Serve as a leader and a trusted resource to other healthcare team members
  • Up-to-date certifications/compliance:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR via American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Two-step TB test
    • Physical exam within the last 12 months
