Interim Staff Development Coordinator

We’re looking for a hands-on Staff Development Coordinator for senior living community in the Hudsonville, Michigan area.
The incoming RN Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing all in-service education programs in accordance with state and federal regulations. The person in this role will serve as a trusted leader by creating a framework of educational services that promote the growth and development of licensed and unlicensed staff.
When you join the LeaderStat team as an interim leader, you’ll be connected with a dedicated specialist before and during your assignment. They will work with you to coordinate onboarding, book and pay for travel arrangements, and assist with any questions along the way.
Job Duties
- Under the direction/supervision of the DON, the Staff Development Coordinator assists in formulating departmental policies and procedures
- Responsible for the implementation of new employee orientation and clinical competency
- Designs, organizes, and implements educational offers to increase competence in specific areas of practice
- Perform all functions of a Registered Nurse (RN) within the scope of practice, including delivering nursing care
Qualifications
- Two years of clinical experience in a long-term care setting with at least one year as an educator preferred
- Valid and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan or in an eligible Nurse Compact State
- Experience in gerontology preferred
- Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred
- Serve as a leader and a trusted resource to other healthcare team members
- Strong computer literacy and competency skills
- Up-to-date clinical compliance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR via American Heart Association (AHA)
- Two-step TB test
- Physical exam within the last 12 months
