Interim Registered Nurse Manager – Radiation Oncology

Schedule: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts
Shift: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Gross Weekly Pay: $4,400 per week
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Interim Registered Nurse Manager to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for a Radiation Oncology Clinic in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiation oncology and oncology nursing, along with previous nursing leadership or management experience. The Nurse Manager will oversee daily nursing operations, staff performance, patient care, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of nursing operations within a radiation oncology clinic.
- Ensure safe, high-quality nursing care for oncology and radiation therapy patients.
- Oversee daily clinic operations, staffing, scheduling, and patient flow.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, procedures, standards, and protocols.
- Monitor clinical and operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure patient care complies with applicable state, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Serve as an advocate for oncology patients and their families.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicians, advanced practice providers, hospital leadership, and other departments.
- Recruit, orient, coach, counsel, and evaluate nursing staff.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to support patient safety and quality care.
- Ensure staff competency through orientation, education, training, and ongoing assessment.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Conduct staff meetings addressing clinical operations, safety, patient care, and process improvement.
- Maintain required quality-control documentation and clinic records.
- Ensure proper maintenance and availability of clinical supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with Human Resources regarding staffing, employee performance, licensure, credentialing, and compliance.
- Assist with budget planning, productivity management, and effective utilization of human and material resources.
- Support emergency preparedness and disaster response plans.
- Promote professional development and continuing education for nursing staff.
- Ensure nursing practice addresses the physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-specific needs of oncology patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Active RN license in New Mexico or Compact RN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Previous radiation oncology nursing experience required
- Previous RN Manager, Nurse Manager, Clinical Manager, or nursing leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of oncology patient care and radiation oncology clinical operations
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
