Health Services Director Job Description
Health Services Directors are responsible for leading and supervising delivery of care to senior living residents. This position is ultimately responsible, and accountable, for the nursing care received by residents. This role reports to the Executive Director.
Specifically, Health Services Director job duties include:
- Directing the care program
- Assessing incoming residents to ensure they're an appropriate fit
- Assessing current residents should care needs change
- Overseeing hiring, firing, and development of care staff
- Communicating with families, residents, and physicians as needed
- Overseeing scheduling/ Call offs
- Participating in creating resident care plans and ensuring they are followed
- Ensuring the care team is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Prioritizing in the face of interruptions and ensuring all tasks get completed
HSD Job Requirements
Candidates must be nurses, either RN or LPN in Oregon.
Health Services Director jobs require a candidate who has care leadership experience, a strong understanding of senior living standards of care, and federal and state regulations. A high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and compassionate leadership qualities are must-haves. Candidates must be able to think critically, and adapt quickly to new situations.

Ideal candidates will bring:
• Oregon Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)

• A track record of success in Assisted Living, Senior Living, &/or Memory Care setting,
• A self-starter attitude, and a drive to do things well
• Clear & open communication style
• Great ability to stay organized and manage time well in the face of many distractions throughout an average day
• Resident-first mindset about the delivery of care
Salary Range: $120,000 to $130,000, with the top end being reserved for candidates with exceptionally stable and successful previous clinical leadership experience.
