Position Overview

The Director of Dining / Executive Chef is responsible for the overall leadership and execution of culinary services, including food quality, team management, budgeting, and resident satisfaction.

This is a hands-on leadership role—you’ll be actively involved in the kitchen, mentoring staff, and ensuring excellence at every level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily culinary operations, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and presentation

  • Manage food cost, labor, and departmental budget performance

  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and temperature logs

  • Oversee menu execution and introduce new recipes and techniques

  • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff

  • Ensure consistent resident satisfaction through engagement and feedback

  • Collaborate with leadership on overall community goals

  • Maintain proper staffing levels and oversee scheduling

 

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of culinary experience required

  • 5+ years of leadership/management experience preferred

  • Culinary degree preferred but not required

  • Experience in senior living or healthcare is a plus (not required)

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations

  • Proven leadership skills with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
