Position Summary
Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. You will rapidly assess patients, prioritize care based on acuity, initiate evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to stabilize and treat a wide range of emergent conditions for patients across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid triage assessments, identify life-threatening conditions, and implement emergency interventions.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other treatments per provider orders and established protocols.
- Interpret and respond to diagnostic results (e.g., EKGs, labs) and monitor patient status for changes.
- Provide trauma and acute medical care including wound care, splinting, and assistance with procedures.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Maintain patient safety, infection prevention practices, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges while supporting department throughput goals.
Required Qualifications
- (RN) Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- 1 year of Acute Care ER RN experience required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
