A respected senior living community in Bloomfield Hills, MI is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations across Assisted Living and Memory Care. Position Overview

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall clinical leadership, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes within the Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods. This leader will partner closely with the Executive Director and department heads to ensure exceptional resident care, staff engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day clinical leadership for Assisted Living and Memory Care
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations and company policies
  • Oversee care planning, resident assessments, and service delivery
  • Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and monitor clinical outcomes
  • Partner with families and residents to ensure a positive care experience
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and clinical budgets
  • Support survey readiness and successfully navigate state inspections

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
  • 3 years of DON experience in Assisted Living and Memory Care
  • Strong knowledge of state regulations and survey processes
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change and drive accountability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for working with seniors, particularly those with memory care needs
