Position Overview
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and clinical oversight of nursing services within the community. This role ensures the highest standards of care, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the nursing team
- Maintain and enhance quality of care and clinical outcomes
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Lead survey readiness efforts and maintain strong survey results
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and resident-centered care
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia
- Proven clinical and nursing leadership expertise
- Demonstrated history of successful survey outcomes and regulatory compliance
- Prior experience as a Director of Nursing within a Life Plan Retirement Community
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
