Director of Food & Nutrition Services
Location: Palatine, IL
St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly is seeking an experienced Director of Food & Nutrition Services to lead our dietary department and support exceptional, person-centered care for our residents. This position oversees food service operations, staff management, regulatory compliance, budgeting, food safety, and resident nutrition programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily food service and dietary operations
- Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate dietary staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with residents, nursing staff, and dietitians to support individualized nutrition care plans
- Manage department budgets, purchasing, inventory, and equipment maintenance
- Participate in quality improvement and interdisciplinary team meetings
Qualifications
- Current Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of food service management experience, preferably in long-term care, senior living, or healthcare
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and nutrition services
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
