LeaderStat is proud to partner with a well-established, nonprofit aging services organization in Baltimore, MD, to recruit a Dementia Resource Manager. This is a unique opportunity for a dementia-focused professional to lead and grow a dedicated Cognitive and Caregiver Resource Center serving individuals living with dementia, their care partners, staff, and the broader community.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of dementia and cognitive impairment, excellent organizational and relationship-building skills, and a passion for creating meaningful programs and resources for older adults and their caregivers.

About the Opportunity

The Dementia Resource Manager will have direct oversight of the programs and services associated with the Cognitive and Caregiver Resource Center, including the day-to-day operations and utilization of the space.

This position will play a key role in growing the Resource Center and its social engagement program, developing dementia education and caregiver support resources, coordinating community partnerships, and serving as a subject-matter expert on dementia for staff and community partners.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys connecting with people, building relationships, developing programs, and making a tangible impact in the lives of individuals living with dementia and their care partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage the day-to-day operations, programs, and activities of the Cognitive and Caregiver Resource Center.
  • Oversee the utilization of the Resource Center by internal departments, community organizations, facilitators, and other groups.
  • Manage budgetary spending and revenue associated with the Resource Center.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to Resource Center operations.
  • Provide direct supervision to ancillary staff and contracted facilitators supporting the Center and its programs.
  • Coordinate with Volunteer Services to identify appropriate volunteers and interns and supervise their assigned work.
  • Develop and deliver current, evidence-based education on Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and cognitive well-being in person, virtually, and at community locations.
  • Provide dementia education and training to formal and informal caregivers, including staff across multiple care settings.
  • Develop education, engagement, referral, and support opportunities for individuals with cognitive impairment and their caregivers.
  • Build relationships with community agencies and organizations and represent the Resource Center throughout the local community.
  • Maintain current knowledge of dementia best practices, Alzheimer's disease, caregiver support, self-care resources, and available community services.
  • Support the continued growth and development of the Resource Center and its social engagement programming.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3+ years of experience working with individuals living with dementia or cognitive impairment preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working with older adults and/or in service navigation preferred.
  • Experience providing dementia education, training, or programming preferred.
  • Current certification as a CTRS or ADC preferred.
  • Current certification(s) in dementia-related curriculum or training preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience. 
  • Strong organizational and program-management skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, coordinate multiple priorities, and oversee daily operations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A compassionate, engaging, and hands-on approach to working with individuals living with dementia, caregivers, staff, and community partners.
