Clinical Pharmacist

Schedule: Days | 4 x 10-hour shifts | 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Weekends: Every 3rd weekend
Holidays: 1 summer holiday + 1 winter holiday

We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at a 267-bed acute care hospital in the Fort Walton Beach, FL area. This is a great opportunity for a pharmacist with inpatient experience or a recent PGY1 graduate who wants to build a long-term career in hospital pharmacy.

What You'll Do

  • Review, interpret, verify, and accurately process medication orders.
  • Compound and dispense medications safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor drug therapy for interactions, allergies, contraindications, and appropriate dosing.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services including pharmacokinetics, anticoagulation monitoring, renal dosing, IV-to-PO conversion, pain management, nutrition support, and drug consultations.
  • Provide medication information and education to physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support formulary management and promote appropriate, cost-effective medication therapy.
  • Document clinical interventions and activities accurately.
  • Participate in medication safety initiatives, including medication error and adverse drug reaction reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team and other members of the healthcare team.

What We're Looking For

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Active Florida pharmacist license in good standing.
  • PGY1 completion or inpatient hospital pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply, particularly candidates who have completed a PGY1.
  • Candidates without inpatient experience may be considered if they graduated within the past 5 years.
  • Long-term retail-only pharmacy experience is not the ideal background for this position.
  • Strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
