Position Overview:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides clinical support under the supervision of the Office Nurse or Physician, assisting with patient care and office operations. Responsibilities include performing procedures such as blood draws, injections, immunizations, and lab tests; obtaining vital signs; assisting with exams; preparing patients for procedures; and supporting nursing tasks as directed. The role also involves maintaining clean and stocked exam rooms, managing medical records, handling patient communications, and requisitioning supplies.
The CMA/LPN must demonstrate professionalism, emotional stability, and a caring, patient-focused attitude. Success in this role requires teamwork, flexibility, discretion, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, ensuring high-quality care and a positive patient experience.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years in a formal Medical Assistant curriculum, special training for Medical Assistants.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting.
- Must maintain certification as a Medical Assistant.
- BLS Certification
