Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Administrator to lead day-to-day operations for a high-performing, multi-specialty outpatient surgery center accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting body. This role partners closely with physician owners/investors, the governing board, and facility leadership to deliver excellent patient outcomes, strong financial performance, and a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct overall facility operations, including administrative, clinical support, business office, and patient access functions.
  • Serve as liaison to the Governing Board and Medical Staff; build strong physician relationships and support medical staff coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and safety requirements.
  • Lead quality improvement, infection prevention, risk management, and patient experience initiatives; monitor KPIs and implement corrective action plans.
  • Develop and manage operating, staffing, and capital budgets; oversee financial performance, revenue cycle outcomes, and cost controls.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, staffing plans, and employee engagement.
  • Manage vendor, service, and physician contracts; ensure service levels and contract compliance.
  • Support credentialing/privileging processes and ensure appropriate governance documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, service line development, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in operational reviews and performance reporting with enterprise stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred).
  • 2–5+ years of leadership experience in an ASC; or hospital surgical services leadership with direct ASC exposure.
  • Demonstrated executive-level management experience, including budgeting, P&L accountability, and workforce leadership.
  • Experience working in a physician-aligned or joint venture environment strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, quality programs, infection control, and patient safety.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and drive growth, operational improvement, and accountability.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with physicians, staff, and governing boards.
  • Proficiency with operational reporting and performance metrics; ability to analyze trends and manage risk.
